A great advantage of the self-hardening clay is the variability of possibilities when it comes to decorating it. If you want to change the colour of the clay, first, add a little amount of acrylic paint into white clay. Knead it in carefully with your hands and then work with the coloured clay in the same way you’re used to. Most often though, the clay is decorated after hardening. Smooth out imperfections on the product using sandpaper and you can start painting. Paint bigger areas with acrylic paints using a brush or a sponge, you can draw details with acrylic markers. You’ll achieve an interesting trendy effect using marbling paints. For better protection of the paint, it’s good to varnish the product, for example with a spray varnish. If there’s a possibility of the product coming into contact with water, it needs to be varnished really carefully, in several layers.
